Charring Kilns

Ansac has conducted a significant amount of research and development over the past five years in developing and refining its kiln technology in order to take on the challenges of arresting climate change.  By partnering with academic institutions and industry, Ansac has been able to successfully modify the design of its HK series Indirect Fired Kilns to produce a unique range of Charring Kilns that can produce char from any number of feed stocks.

The proprietary Ansac Charring Kiln design allows for the capture of the volatile gases (hydrocarbons) being released from the feed stock within the heat tube and the recirculation of these gases into the Kiln burners, creating a perpetual and self-sustaining process.  This process negates the need for the use of non-renewable fuels once the charring kiln is up to the required temperature set-point.

Trials have proven that by using the Ansac Charring Kiln technology, coal char can be produced with a volatile content of less that 1%.  Ansac is also proud to have made the entire process as simple and robust as possible so as to make the technology accessible to all levels of the industrial supply chain.

With the international need for char growing for its ability to assist soil in capturing moisture and nutrients and with its unique ability to sequester carbon from the atmosphere, Ansac have developed the perfect product to assist anyone in producing high quality char.
